Many brides want to incorporate something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue into their weddings.

Brides can make their something blue stand out among their attire or keep it simple and hidden. Here are twenty ways to incorporate blue into a bride’s wedding day.

  1. Garter. A blue garter is one of the most traditional ways that brides use blue in their wedding days. It won’t be seen during the ceremony, so it is one of the easiest ways to wear something blue if it isn’t one of the wedding colors.
  2. Jewelry. Brides can wear aquarmarine, turquoise, or sapphire earrings, bracelets, or necklaces if they want their something blue to stand out.
  3. Flowers. Brides can carry a bouquet of blue flowers down the aisle.
  4. Ribbon. Wrap the bottom of the bouquet with blue ribbon. If a bride wants to use blue ribbon but doesn’t want to use it on her bouquet, she can take a small piece of blue ribbon and hand sew it to one of the underneath layers of the wedding dress.
  5. Eyeliner. Wearing navy eyeliner is a unique way for brides to include blue into their wedding days.
  6. Hankie. Carry a blue hankie down the aisle to wipe away tears during the ceremony.
  7. Underwear. No one will know but the bride.
  8. Nail polish. A bride could get blue polish painted onto her toes during her pre-wedding pedicure.
  9. Headband or tiara. Wear a blue headband or tiara during the ceremony.
  10. Dress label. A handmade blue dress label with the wedding date embroidered on it can be a special touch to a wedding dress.
  11. Sash. Some wedding dresses have a colored sash. Why not choose a shade a blue?
  12. Silk flower. Pin a blue flower to bodice of the wedding dress for Sex in the City style.
  13. Journal. A bride can writer her vows in a beautiful, blue journal and carry it down the aisle.
  14. Contact Lenses. Spice things up on the wedding day by wearing blue contacts.
  15. Temporary Tattoo. Want to surprise the groom on the wedding night? Apply a blue temporary tattoo to an area that only he will see.
  16. Fragrance. Wear a perfume that has blue in the name such as Light Blue Perfume for Women by Dolce and Gabbana.
  17. Shoes. A bride can wear a stunning pair of blue shoes or order light blue soles in her shoes.
  18. Wrap. Winter brides usually need a way to cover up in the cold, so this is a great way to incorporate blue into the attire. Use a blue wrap.
  19. Brooch. Attach an antique brooch that has colors of blue in it to the wedding gown. This could also be a bride’s something old.
  20. Gloves. If a bride is planning to wear gloves during her wedding, she could consider wearing light blue gloves.
